Structural glass and glass for interiors
SunGuard is one of the widest and most complete ranges or structural glass for architecture.
Manufactured since 1997 by Guardian Industries Corporation, an American group founded in 1932 operating in over 20 countries worldwide, SunGuard Advanced Architectural Glass are coated using the so-called magnetronic after coating process. They come in three categories of performance rating
applied to Guardian ExtraClear white-based float glass with reduced iron content: SunGuard Solar, SunGuard High Performance and SunGuard High Selective Superneutri. The wide range of colours
available and various degrees of solar control provide architects and architectural projects with solutions catering for multiple uses, different climatic conditions, specific stylistic and structural features of buildings,
logistics and speedy delivery.
Another important range manufactured by Guardian are its low-emissivity neutral glasses, ClimaGuard Premium, ClimaGuard NL and ClimaGuard 1.0, which guarantee optimum heat insulation effectively
contributing to energy saving. In addition to structural glass for exteriors, Guardian also manufacturers a specially designed line for interior furnishing.
DiamondGuard, a glass which is surface-treated using scratchproof carbon used for tables, dividing walls and glass windows for commercial areas; SatinDeco, an acid-coated glass with an extremely smooth and even surface to reduce the risk of dirt building up; SatinMirror reflective glass; SaintDeco Lami, a laminated safety glass available in 14 different colours and Decocristal, a back-painted glass for interiors available in 14 different shades of colour. One extremely important application is the heat-insulated glass window designed for the Ferrari restaurant building in Maranello. The various elements combining to form the system, whose overall thickness is 38 mm, are: a 66.2 SC Guardian LamiGlass Sound Control stratified external sheet with Extraclear sound-damping and fitted with a SunGuard SN 51 high-selectivity magnetronic low-emissivity selective anti-solar device placed on the side by the cavity; a 16mm cavity formed by a metal spacer and double seal with internal argon gas; a stratified accidentproof internal sheet measuring 44.2 SC with LamiGlass Sound Control sound-damping composed of Extraclear float glass.
